Spektrum AR6100 Receiver Sucks but Horizon Hobbies Customer Service is great - Spektrum AR6100 Receiver

Horizon Hobby, Inc. has the best customer service.

I bought a Spektrum AR6100 receiver from Horizon Hobby, Inc. and put it in a $200 airplane.
2 minutes into flight and I lost radio contact with the plane and crashed it.
I lost the battery and the plane.

So I'm warning you, DO NOT BUY AR6100, buy AR6000.

This is so important to say twice, DO NOT BUY AR6100, BUY AR6000.

If you don't believe this, search online and you will see stories about this receiver.

BUT, I called Horizon Hobby, Inc. and as always they are very cooperative and they agreed to send me an AR6000 instead.

I just wanted to thank Horizon Hobby, Inc. for their great customer service, and I hope they stop selling Spektrum AR6100 receivers one day!

Horizon Hobby lost 2 of their junk esc that I sent back US mail , there was no tracking number. They knew I was sending back their junk for the third time under warranty , and did not want to deal with their problem so they just lost them. Now I am out 200 dollars thanks Horizon Hobby , you jerks ! I will never buy a losi product again !!!!

I just totalled my Corsair. I thought it was radio signal loss, but after downloading the flight data from the Eagle Tree Flight Recorder I found a drop in the receiver voltage. I was using a Turnigy K-Force ESC and was using the internal BEC. Not anymore though, all my next planes with have an external BEC for the receiver.

1. Horizon Hobbies are definitely great to deal with. They have always treated me unbelievably well!
2. My experience with the AR6100 receiver has been excellent. However, I do not use the internal BEC in the ESC. I always use a UBEC instead and have never had a problem of "brown-out" due to servo overload.

AR6100 is very good receiver, but for outdoor use it likes to be powered by voltage not lower than 5V. 6V or higher is even better.
